Tonal announced a long-requested feature from the community today – a new Apple Watch app, as well as Bluetooth heart rate monitor support.

Tonal Apple Watch App

First up is the new Tonal Apple Watch app. One of the key features it the ability to see your heart rate in real time on your wrist during your workouts. Once a workout is completed, you’ll be able to browse a summary of the workout on your watch. And for those who love closing their rings on Apple Health, this will now sync with Apple Health so count towards your progress!

The watch will also function as a remote control for your Tonal. You can now pause and restart your workout, add or subtract weights (and turn them on and off), as well as get notifications as you near the end of a set.

Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor Support

If you don’t have an Apple watch, Tonal still has some goodies for you today. They have announced that Bluetooth heart rate monitors can be paired with the Tonal to enable you to see your heart rate on the screen during a workout. They’ve provided a new guide on how to get up and running.
