Peloton announced today that they would be forced to cancel Peloton Homecoming for 2020. Originally scheduled for May 1 – 3, Peloton has made the decision to cancel the event in light of the uncertainty for people to make travel plans and stay safe with the current COVID-19 outbreak.
Peloton has instead said they will try to bring some elements of the homecoming experience to all members, that same weekend. The plan will be to live stream some special sessions, and provide some other videos and experiences to members from the comfort of their own home. Who knows, maybe this will still include a few product announcements, including the Peloton Rower or lower cost treadmill? These classes & experiences will be open to all Peloton member’s – not just those who were able to buy a Homecoming ticket before it sold out.
All members who had signed up for Homecoming will automatically receive a refund by the end of March – no action is needed from the members. Peloton doesn’t currently plan to reschedule Homecoming 2020, instead, just waiting to host it again until 2021. It is undecided if members who signed up for 2020 will get priority for tickets for 2021 or not.
